2 - 5 years in Systems Admin or Support role.
Strong background in Linux/Unix Implementation and Support
Knowledge of server hardware, switches, NAS storage, SAN storage basics.
Proficiency in installing and administering other mainstream operating systems (Windows Server)
Experience with different databases, including working knowledge of SQL, MySQL, (relational data stores, Postgres) and NoSQL.
Familiar with networking and routing protocols, TCP/IP stack, firewall principles (port forwarding/filtering), NAT etc.
Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available environment
A solid understanding of public, private and hybrid cloud technologies including firewalls, load balancers, hypervisor, storage, monitoring, security etc.
Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
Experience with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Rackspace etc.)
Demonstrable experience with storage and network equipment in an enterprise setting and with one or more of the following:
Virtualization – LXC, KVM, Hyper-V, Xen, etc.
Advanced Storage Solutions – RAID, LVM, SAN, NAS, file system tuning, etc.
Advanced Networking Configuration – Bridging, bonding, switching, firewalling, network file system tuning, etc.
High Availability Clustering – File systems, Servers, Databases
Linux integration with other environments – Authentication/directory services, network file systems, etc.
Familiar with Open Source software development • A working understanding of code and script (PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
